This product is quite controversial. On the one hand, it's very good for developing kids and can be fun to do. On the other hand, it's quite artificially limited, without Czech language, some elements are not well thought out, and most importantly, it's very expensive (10,000 CZK compared to about 5,000 CZK for the much more sophisticated Mindstorms Robot Inventor (EV3) - when it was still in production about 3 years ago).
Great for children from 3 to about 8 years old.
It helps to develop imagination and the ability to build something functional.
Application with short story tasks. For example. red ghost detector in the cave in the form of a car with a light.
It contains parts that are compatible with both lego technics (virtually all functional parts are for connecting to technics parts) and classic lego, so kids will have a lot of fun building their own superstructures over functional models. These parts are not in Spike Prime (the better equipped one).
It is used in schools.
The app is not in Czech. Considering that it's primarily intended for children, it's not much.
It is not possible to write/click a program and then release it with the button on the control unit.
The unit cannot operate independently without a connection to the application. If you turn off the app, it stops working.
Only 2 ports - very few, usually you need at least one input and then you have only one output.
Very high price considering the equipment - Spike Prime costs almost the same and has much wider possibilities (but you can't connect standard lego to it).
Aimed at educational institutions - high price - previous similar series of kits (e.g. mindstorm robot inventor) cost half as much (while they were in production) and contained many times more functional parts.
Very poor instructions for the unit itself, they practically don't describe all the states of the unit (how it lights/flashes).
There is always a short space between each command block in the application, you do not do this for example. smooth swinging of the swing.
It does not support interfacing with another controller like the earlier EV3.
Not compatible with other cable-free Lego education sets.
