We really liked it according to the picture and during the construction we were amazed how many functions it has.
even a more skilled 7 year old child can do it with a little help from a parent 😉
it is beautiful to see in exact proportion how the sun rotates the earth, how the moons pass in the year and the full moon, etc.
great for showing the possibilities of lego tech
it's nice to see how the cogs work (and there are many of them😁) one crank does so many different functions
sometimes it is necessary to look consistently in the instructions how to connect the component
the final setup to make everything work as it should is quite a challenge but we managed

Even when I found out late last year that this model would go on sale in March, I said I wanted it. I made excuses for the baby, of course, and got away with it. What I didn't realize was that I'd have to build it with the baby too, hmm. With a six year old, it was done in a few evenings, in about 10 hours total, a 10+ child or 10+ adult would probably have done it considerably faster. I also wanted this model as a didactic tool, which paid off, because after finishing and explaining what the yellow ball was, my child said "aha, I didn't know it spun like that". Messrs. Copernicus and Galileo would have been proud. To my child and to the LEGO company. The tutorial has 207 steps and 144 pages and is also available as a 3D tutorial in the app. It's perhaps a bit of a shame that there's no mention of the model in the instructions, but then Wikipedia is elsewhere. I wonder if someone will make a "flat earth" add-on to this, it would probably be pretty funny.
Realistic representation of the movement and rotation of the Earth and the Sun, but keep in mind that it's still just Lego
Lots of gears that spin and each of them has a function
It's a 10+, but it's fun and entertaining even 40+, sometimes I found it harder than many 18+ sets
Lots of gears and wheels (there are so many I have to write it twice)
Even a 10-child can do it with a little help
3D model in the Lego Builder app
Quite stable, even when building it you can show the kids "how this piece fixed it"
Lots of connecting "rivets"
There's a lot of them.
The stickers with the names of the months and the phases of the moon are a lot of work even for an adult, it's easy to miss
You have to be pretty careful to put the parts on correctly, the instructions could warn more, otherwise you will have a winter season in summer, at least according to the position of the Earth and the Sun, but it can be fixed then
The Earth is too close to the Sun in this model and so the plastic parts of the Earth start to melt quickly, but it can also be thought of as a simulator of the distant future
Someone's always trying to spin it now.
