In the Google Home solution with Google Nest Wifi you have to simulate a bad network range (e.g. cover the transmitter) to switch the wifi to 2.4 GHz and then it will find the bulb that can't do 5 GHz. This is, however, more of a Google Wifi problem.

More fun and practical than an ordinary light bulb
