I have been looking for a 5W40 meeting the LL04 standard from BMW for a long time. Most of the time only 5W30 will meet this, but given how the engine runs and warms up, 5W40 is better, especially for higher mileage cars. This is one of the few that is 5W40 and still meets the standard, so ideal for diesel BMWs. The only problem is the top, through which you cannot pour the old oil into the empty container.
One of the few 5W40 that meets the BMW LL04 standard, i.e. ideal for 2.0d and 3.0d diesels (N47, N57 etc.)
Good price
The throat has that pull-out tube and it flows out slowly (ideal for minor top-ups, but annoying for a full oil change)
This makes it impossible to pour old oil into an empty container
