If I could return it easily without going through the same ordeal (especially in summer) of defrosting, moving things around, etc., I would definitely return it. The fridge is noisy, and I mean really noisy, not suitable for studio/one-bed flats where you also want to spend your free time, but that's the least of its problems. The Koreans have apparently decided to let their company's greatest minds innovate the door opening mechanism. And get this, it's not automatic, nor is it a soft-close feature to stop things in the door from falling over, quite the opposite – there's a nonsensical stop at about a 100° opening, combined with a relatively fast closing action and some resistance towards the end of closing. Sound weird? It is weird! Most of the time, what happens is either the door bounces off the stop, picks up speed, and immediately slams shut (with great force), or if you slow it down to stop it from closing so fast, it doesn't close fully and bounces back to about a 15° opening. I've never seen anything like it in my life. Pretty bonkers, right? But that's not all! Samsung probably decided to collect some eco-points by making it start beeping if the door is left open for too long (for example, because you're wrestling with the closing mechanism). And if you ignore it, it starts beeping even louder, and finally, the light starts flashing, so if you're rearranging something in there, which is why the door is open, the light turns off to make it take even longer. It's a shame I can't add a video, I'd upload the disco show here.
