When you lift it off the stand, the switch turns off - many kettles don't have this protection, and it's very important!
Even if the hot water sits there for a long time, it doesn't cool down much. It's kind of like a thermos. Where are the plastic cans..: P
A little unstable on the stand when empty, but when there's water in it, it's fine. It's because the kettle itself is very light. So it's actually a plus..: )
