I was looking for a simple camera for home use (a kind of home nanny). This model suits my needs. It is compatible with Synology Surveillance Station. Since I'm not concerned about protecting my property or need to look at the image from anywhere, I disabled all communication from the camera down to the router/firewall level. The camera software itself does not allow this. I'm also happy with the night mode, even though it's only a shot the size of a child's room
