Good mobile control app.
Control works over the Internet, not just on a local network. (requires an account with TP-Link)
Timer function - switches the socket on/off at a given time. It also supports local sunrise/sunset switching.
Countdown function - switches the socket on/off after 1 minute to 24 hours.
Random on/off function within a certain period of time.
Automatic shut-off function after 1 minute to 24 hours - unlike the countdown function, this is a setting, i.e. even if you switch the socket on manually, it will switch off automatically after a given time interval.
Actions to turn on and off integrated in Apple Shortcuts, offering interesting automation possibilities in iOS.
It measures the time the outlet has been on today, the last 7 days, and the last 30 days. (to the nearest tenth of an hour)
The ability to share individual sockets with other household members and therefore allow them to control them. (each member must have a TP-Link account again)
It's blocking two sockets in the extension cord.
Apple Home support is missing.
The timer function only offers the possibility to switch the socket on or off at a precise time. So if you want to define a "turn on every hour for 5 minutes" schedule, you will need to create 24 tasks to turn on and then either use the automatic shutdown feature after 5 minutes or create another 24 tasks to turn off.
The mobile app has its own automation system, but its contribution seems very limited to me.
Although sockets belong to a defined "household", you cannot simply share control of everything in the household - you have to share each socket separately.
