My daughter and I often travel between grandmothers and originally I had borrowed another mattress from my sister-in-law that folded into three parts. First of all, the original mattress was ultra-soft, and my baby was not lying flat but on his haunches, thanks to the super stocks. Like once a year for a few days is good, but I've dealt with a few 14 day stays throughout the year and it didn't seem very OK. So I was looking for something similar and I have to admit that this mattress is great. It is in one piece, when you fold it (roll it up into a cover) you can still hide various things in the cylinder for sleeping (e.g. a newborn curtain cot for a travel bed, or sheets and mattress protectors). I am also satisfied with the firmness of the mattress, which matches the firmness of the mattress in the crib we have for the little one at home. That way you don't get the stupid feeling that they're ruining the baby's back from a few months. As a mother myself, I welcome the option of removing the cover for washing. So for me definitely OK, and who travels with children more (with a travel cot), definitely invest in a good quality mattress, but our little one spent 2/3 of the day in the cot and the mattress: )
