Why, the manufacturers keep trying to invent fancy ones and make the working ones dysfunctional. When you plug this charger in, it turns on for a few seconds. It then goes into sleep mode and when you plug in your phone, it doesn't start charging. You need to eject/retract the USB or the whole charger. After ejecting the entire charger, you have to wait a few seconds for it to even notice that it is de-energized and has to restart. I'm sending it back. I don't have the nerve.
