I tried the advice of different mobile phone holders for the car. I have always found the air conditioning vent to be the best place to place an " on-board computer" in the form of a smartphone. On the one hand, the cool air prevents overheating of the mobile phone, for example, when navigating and charging the mobile phone at the same time, and technically it is perhaps the only place, apart from the left air vent, where you can legally place the mobile phone if you want to see it on the navigation map. According to traffic regulations, it is not possible to look out of the vehicle. Nevertheless, I also tried several types with a suction cup on the glass. The suction cups were either so weak that in the summer the whole glass holders fell off, or on the contrary they were so strong that everything stuck to them and they were almost impossible to remove from the glass. I also tried different types of mounts that were inserted deep into the vent or into the CD drive. However, the type of attachment that uses this particular holder has proven to be the best for me. I' ve already used it in 3 different cars and it' s really the most reliable legal phone holder. It does not block any of the back ports or buttons on any of my 4 mobile phones that I have replaced over the years. It holds the phone well even when it is not fully clamped, so there is no need to loose/close the side parts. There is no rear barrier.
