Hello, thank you for your feedback. The 100W output is the maximum output of the main USB-C port. However, with a continuous 100W draw, the electronics gradually heat up. The charger therefore automatically reduces the output after reaching a certain temperature to maintain a safe operating temperature and prevent excessive thermal stress on the components. This is the price to pay for its exceptionally small size – current technology allows for a very high output in a small body, but with a long-term constant load of 100W, it's necessary to thermally regulate the output. In practice, the output then fluctuates around 60–80W depending on the conditions and ambient temperature.
Therefore, 100W is not just a marketing figure. It is the maximum available output that the charger achieves, and under prolonged high load, it protects itself and the connected device by regulating its output.
Thank you for your understanding. We believe that despite this characteristic, you will appreciate the combination of high output, GaN technology, and very compact dimensions. Thank you and have a nice day, Ondřej - Alza expert
