Ecological bedding, does not smell of chemicals.
If the cat decides to bury everything, it doesn't even smell like excrement. I've always smelled everything from all my previous litters.
It's light.

clumps reliably
absorbs odor
With regular cleaning, it stays functional for a long time (although the promised 7 weeks is an exaggeration, it needs a complete replacement much sooner).
can be flushed without risk of blocking
Virtually no dust compared to bentonite.
price/usability
it's very light, so it gets spread around easily (luckily it's the clean bits)
