The time switch is great, I use it to turn the lights on and off on my Christmas tree at a certain hour, and it works well. you can set up a lot of things on it, so I'm satisfied. The setup is a bit complicated but you get used to it. the only disadvantage is that the battery is not replaceable, it is rechargeable, but the question is what will happen when it wears out, if then the whole switch will not be thrown away.
but that remains to be seen. but I think if the battery is there, they could also allow the user to replace it.

In the past, I had a mechanical socket that made more and more noise as the timer in it moved (i.e. 24/7 noise).
