Unfortunately, for the first time I am forced to write a negative review of a product purchased on Alza. I bought this HF because I liked the size and features (it has a display and touch controls). Unusual equipment considering the price. Even the processing is not bad. The tin basket and the basket grate suggest that somewhere the price must have gone up. But the low price unfortunately had an impact on the material used in the HF body. I have a Tefal Optigrill at home (and use it often) and certain dishes just can't be done on it (fries, American potatoes, etc. ). I gave my girlfriend the HF Tefal XXL with Grill function for Christmas and I am thrilled with it. So I wanted to get something similar for my home and deliberately chose a cheap product. Already when unpacking the HF, the smell of the plastic from which the HF is made could be smelled from the packaging. Smell is common with new stuff, nothing unusual. But the first time I used it, the smell began to build up with the heat to the point that the whole apartment smelled of this odour of heated plastic. I have used the fryer 3 times since I got it (first days of February) the smell does not stop when using it. Rather the opposite. I justified it by saying that it will get better with time but the last straw was yesterday when I was preparing chicken steaks in the fryer. The smell of the plastic permeated the meat, so all the flavour of the meat and spices was muted by the plastic flavour. And it pissed me off so much that I was done being lenient with this product and for the first time in my shopping experience, I will be returning it to Alza. You really can't eat this plastic, when you feel it through your nose and then on your tongue, it's over. I don't even want to imagine how many unhealthy substances are released from the plastic into the food and space by the heat. If Alza acknowledges my complaint and allows me to return the product, I will add a couple of hundred crowns and get an add-on to the Optigrill that I wanted before - a baking dish that allows me to prepare the dishes I originally bought the HF for.
