For over a year I have been dealing with the following situation. I'm getting internet from my brother-in-law via wifi. Distance approx. 50 m, 4 walls. Lan cable cannot be stretched. So I bought a TP-Link N 722, but the reception is not great. The advice I got in the electro was not helpful. I have now bought this antenna + longer TP-Link TL-ANT2408CL to see if it helps. Signal quality improved by about 80% (average of about 20 measurements). Interestingly, the panel antenna seems to be stronger for one of the computers, and the rod that comes instead of the original one for the TP-Link N722. That's why I recommend buying both and trying them out.
You have to drill into the wall (I have it inside, but it would go outside, of course). The cable is quite inflexible, so if you just need e.g. just a metre like me, you have to twist and tie the rest. But that's not a major problem.
