functional extension cable to connect a 3G modem from a place with a better signal to a wifi router. Common USB extension cables caused that the 3G modem was not detected. With this cable you can find the most suitable place with a good signal within 10 m from the router.
So far nothing, I expected that a HUB with power supply would be needed, as it was not sure whether the problems with detecting the 3G modem is caused by weak power supply from the router, which does not pass through the cable to the modem, or the cable attenuation when transferring data back from the modem. So far it seems that it was a data transfer silence, as the modem is correctly detected through this extension-repeater.
