I'm reducing the humidity in a block of flats where it's normally around 60% over the winter. I always reduce it to about 50% at about 21-22 degrees and it will run at peak performance in about 2 hours. It has an automatic dehumidification function, but that doesn't mean it turns itself on when the humidity rises and off when it reaches the desired humidity. As soon as it drops 5% below the desired humidity, the dehumidification is switched off, but some kind of circulation continues, so it hums in the same way that you don't know whether it is still dehumidifying or just circulating. So it's not possible to leave it on all day at home with the expectation that it will do its job and then switch off. No, he'll go for three days straight, but only a few hours of it will really be a drag. I find this function nonsense, it doesn't have much to do with automatic dehumidification, so we have another humidity detector at home and we turn the dehumidifier on accordingly. The timer works though, it shuts itself off. The noise level is not very high, I have it a short distance from my bed and I can fall asleep with it.
