After switching from an iPhone, the Fold8 was a pleasant surprise. When closed, it's compact and easy to operate with one hand, and when opened, it offers a huge work area. The multitasking, working with documents, and Galaxy AI are excellent. The battery lasts the whole day so far without any issues. The camera is very good, though for a phone at this price, I would have appreciated a telephoto lens. Overall, a great combination of a small phone and a tablet in one.

I'm switching from a Samsung S23 Ultra, which I was extremely satisfied with. I liked the size and the performance, which it had in spades, and the S Pen, which I hope I won't miss. The new Samsung Z Fold 8 has a size I'm still getting used to. As for the camera setup, it's noticeably poorer. I used the telephoto lens on the Ultra, but the 10x one only occasionally. I used the 3x 12MP one regularly, despite its shortcomings and worse f/2.4 aperture. So far, I've made do with the digital zoom on the Z Fold 8. For filming, I use the wide-angle format a lot, which is better quality than on my previous phone. The resolution of the main rear camera is weaker at 50MP compared to 200MP. The photos I've taken so far are adequate; they don't reach the same quality as my previous phone model, but as a work tool that slips into my pocket when folded and turns into a work tablet when needed, it's suitable for my purposes.

I've been using the Samsung Galaxy Fold 8 for a few days now and I must say, this is the first time I feel a folding phone really makes sense. Not as a gimmick, but as a device that actually improves my daily life. The new “passport” shape is exactly what the Fold needed. Finally, the closed display isn't as narrow as a cinema ticket. You can type on it normally, read messages, deal with e-mails and quickly look something up. It feels more natural in the hand and isn't the brick that older generations were. The open display is a joy. When I lie down in the evening and watch a video, read articles or get some work done, that big panel is simply addictive. The crease is less visible than before — it’s still there, but it doesn't bother me at all anymore. The phone is extremely fast. Whether I'm switching between apps, playing games or have several windows open at once, nothing lags. The Fold 8 feels like it has more power than I could ever use. The battery life. Samsung pleasantly surprised me here. The Fold 8 lasts a full day without any stress, even when I'm using the large display. With older Folds, I was used to carrying a power bank — I don't need one here. The Samsung Galaxy Fold 8 is the first Fold that feels truly “finished”. It's practical, fast, a pleasure to use, and gives me something a classic phone can't — a big display whenever I want it. It's not perfect, but it's the best folding phone I've held in my hands so far.

I use the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 every day and it's absolutely fantastic. The unfolded display replaces a tablet, so dealing with emails or sorting things out on the go is incredibly easy. The phone is surprisingly thin, fits perfectly in the hand and the hinge feels really sturdy. The display is beautiful, the system runs lightning fast and the camera hasn't disappointed. I can't imagine going back to a classic phone now.

I've really grown to like this phone, especially during practical use on holiday in Berlin. I made the most use of the large display split between two apps. For example, while on the bus, I had Google Maps on one side to track my route and my stop, and on the other side, I had ChatGPT, which I used to figure out where to go next or what interesting things were nearby. When it recommended a place, I could open it directly in Maps. I surprisingly started using two apps side-by-side very often. The large internal display is also pleasant for browsing the web, using maps, and other tasks. However, some Android apps can't yet make ideal use of it. For instance, the native Proton Mail app didn't suit me, so I installed the web version as a PWA instead. It makes better use of the larger display and shows more columns, yet I have it as a normal icon on my home screen and it works almost the same as a regular app. The keyboard in its default setting takes up quite a lot of space, especially on the smaller external display, but it's easy to resize it on Android. Similarly, I wasn't keen on the default 4×4 icon layout. Using the Good Lock app, I changed it to 5×5. On top of that, Good Lock offers plenty of other options for customising the Fold, which I find more useful on this phone than on a standard mobile. The only hardware issue that bothers me so far is the phone wobbling when I place it on a table. It doesn't lie flat because of the protruding cameras. But I hope to solve that soon with a suitable cover or a finger grip, which will also create another point of support.
the large display is really practical for two apps side by side
Multitasking while travelling, for example Google Maps + ChatGPT
large area for web, maps and work
lots of customisation options via Good Lock
The outer display is sufficient for quick, everyday use.
Some Android apps still don't make good use of the large display.
I wasn't happy with the default keyboard and the 4×4 layout, but both are easy to adjust.
the phone wobbles on a table because of the cameras

I'm switching from a ZFOLD 5 and it's clear at first glance that the technology has moved on significantly in 3 years. The folding display is perfect, brilliantly readable and with practically no crease (compared to older models). I'm finding the phone's unusual dimensions a bit of a challenge and I'm still getting used to them, but I believe I'll get there. The biggest problems I'm currently seeing are that the fingerprint reader disappears when I rotate the phone, so I can't just find it out of habit when approving things in apps. Sometimes it's at the top, sometimes at the bottom, you have to wrestle with it a bit :). But the biggest drawback is probably the price.

the hole punch for the inner camera is distinctly distracting (it's handled much better on the Z FOLD5)
The fingerprint reader is quite flimsy and I often have to scan my finger multiple times.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 phone arrived in a neat little box. Inside was just the phone, a cable and the necessary documents. Both the outer and inner displays were covered with an opaque film. A review by Miroslav Nezbeda.
- A quality piece of kit, including the hinge, which is sturdy
- A slightly smaller crease on the inner display
- The dimensions are nice for me, although they're a bit odd
- Doesn't heat up
- Beautifully thin phone
- The edges of the display could be significantly thinner
- No telephoto lens

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 was a really pleasant surprise. Compared to the previous generation, it's lighter, thinner and much more comfortable for everyday use. The large internal display is great for work, watching videos and multitasking. The phone feels premium, is very fast and the camera is more than adequate (I had a 200Mpx on the S25 Ultra and didn't use it anyway). The price is a bit high, but if you want a smaller and more compact phone, the Fold8 is definitely worth considering.
Small (it doesn't stick out in your pocket) and at the same time large when unfolded.
Fingerprint sensor right on the power button.
When unfolded, the speakers are only on the left side.
I sometimes struggle to find the power button, as it's almost flush with the phone's frame.

The construction feels solid and the ergonomics are excellent – the phone is comfortable to hold, even when unfolded. The outer display is perfect for day-to-day use, while the inner display is great for consuming content on YouTube, Instagram, etc. Personally, I think this style of foldable phone will gradually replace traditional tall phones. However, the price is really high, and for such an investment, you would expect a better camera. While the optics can take decent photos, it lags behind the competition in the same price category. The competition performs better, especially in more demanding conditions (low light, zoom). This device is more for people who are primarily interested in an innovative design and a premium vibe, rather than those who prioritise having the best camera.
