Even without the steamer compartment you can use rice cookers to steam things on top of the rice, but the steamer is still useful.
Perfect for one person
Very easy cooking
Very easy cleaning
The sound of the rice getting ready is a bit too quiet and you can miss it, but it'll just keep it warm anyways

I don't see the advantages of this rice cooker. When boiling, the water from the rice cooker splashes all around so you have to uncover and watch anyway, otherwise you will have the whole line flooded. The only advantage is that you don't have to stir the rice as you do when cooking in a regular pot. The function of a rice cooker should be that you do not have to watch the cooking - in this case this is not the case. A classic will definitely cost you less so for me no, maybe try a more expensive model.
