Very nice, we have 2xEra 300. One doesn't stand out that much. In the end we didn't use the Sub and returned it, the bass is fully sufficient for us. We're still tweaking where to put them for the best sound. We will be buying more Era 100 for the kitchen.

I'm writing this from the perspective of someone who has the complete Sonos Arc Ultra + Sonos Sub 4 setup, and now + 2x Sonos Era 300. If you're looking for something to provide quality sound for a rather large room, a Sonos solution could be for you. However, this solution is a bit more expensive than typical soundbar setups. If you're an audiophile, or simply appreciate high-quality and very faithful sound reproduction, then the Sonos solution will be for you. The downside is that Sonos doesn't focus on any sort of enhancement for film audio, which can lead to the feeling that films might sound a bit more boring than what the Samsung HW-Q990D soundbar setup, which sells for less than half the price, can manage. But if your room is a centre for sound, or you even plan to listen to music more often than you watch films, then go for this solution. From a film perspective, if you have a high-quality source, which is an absolute must (Dolby at a minimum, and better), then it's superb. The rear Era 300 speakers add an immense sense of space. That is, you get sounds from the left and right sides, but also transitions from one side to the other, etc. So I would definitely recommend the rear speakers. If you don't often listen in Dolby Atmos, then it's possible the cheaper Era 100 would be enough for you (but I don't have experience with those); I bought the Era 300 straight away as they were a good price. Compared to the Samsung HW-Q990D, I can also point out that you can use your mobile not only for the now fairly standard room tuning, but also to mark your favourite seating spot, which I feel is crucial. If the room were tuned automatically, I wouldn't really care about some parts of the room because I'm never there. As for the sound quality for music, I'm thrilled. When you put on a favourite track, in my case acoustic music, it's like being at a concert.

Based on the reviews, I was expecting it to play at a high level. For me, it came as a big disappointment. For the price category, the sound is quite off. Especially in the middle zone. The bass is incomplete, you can see that a lot of the work here is done by the electronics. I would go so far as to say that the customer buys the "media center" in the first place, and then the point of the thing - to reproduce music - comes next. I bought 2pcs to pair as a stereo for a small room, but unfortunately it's not worth the money. It's more of a fallback solution for someone who doesn't have the option/doesn't want to pull cables, or as a surround speaker - but you need a coplet set for that - woofer/soundbar etc. for XXXX€, which stops making sense altogether - at least for me.
Probably just that you don't need cables from the AVR to the speaker to connect it. Just plug it into a wall socket (however, if there is no AC socket nearby, one solves the cable anyway). The only plus I would see as surround
