They play well and are easy to handle. Noise attenuation absolutely miserable and basically non-functional until I ordered special silicone spunts, which suddenly took the whole headphones to a new level, including noise attenuation. I am sorry that I had to go through a complaint and many hours of searching for the problem because of stupid plugs for a few crowns. I recommend ordering the silicone spunts right away with the headphones.

I had Jabra Elite 85t at first, which I returned and replaced with these. The only thing Jabry easily outperforms this model in is sound quality and automatic calibration to your hearing. Jabra holds harder in the ears (they fall out for me), the mechanical controls (sony has touch) have their drawbacks (leaning your head on something causes interaction), bluetooth didn't even reach 3m and multiconnect flubbed so incredibly that it was beyond tolerable. So I tried the XM4 and I am completely satisfied. The ability to temporarily dismiss sound with a long touch, or interrupt ANC and music by starting to speak, is invaluable. Moreover, the ANC is of very high quality, until I forgot after a few days and at the same time discovered what noise is all around us during normal operation. In general, I also reduced the volume used for listening (previously normally 100%) to 1/3. At this price level I could imagine a slightly better product, but indicatively I would still see it at 4.8 / 5, hence the full rating.

They are the first TWS (in-ear) headphones that I really wanted to have right after the introduction, they fit me personally and I enjoy using them outdoors, on the bike, running, but also inside at work, or just watching TV, and music when I don't want to put bigger headphones on my head. I'm not very fond of in-ear headphones, but these are an exception.
Long headphone life on a single charge and the same goes for the charging case
The sound of the music listened to (not comparing with high quality headphones around the ears) is finally audible with plenty of bass, mids and highs, for me clearly cleaner, richer and richer in detail than with AirPods Pro
In the beginning I had pain inside each ear after about 10 minutes, but after 5 and forums found a way to avoid it, I now have them in my ears for several hours without a hint of pain
They hold well, although after longer conversations, when I'm talking mainly, I have to push/turn the headphones in a bit, but that's on all "in-ear" headphones

So far I have used this kind of headphones only exceptionally and when there were no others at hand, but now I have them always at hand, or more in my ears (ambient sound)
New features (ambient sound, speak to chat, wind noise reduction, ANC) and control settings
Calls during phone calls are really clear, the voice sounds natural without the "phone" effect and I can understand every word.
The LDAC encoding is perfect (even AAC is great), listening to various albums in Tidal Master, but also other hi-res music (FLAC, DSF, WAV) is really possible (but I still prefer headphones around my ears)

Charging case - it looks pretty flimsy to me, the spring in the hinge is pretty strong (which is good) but when the top cover closes it vibrates really loudly, would like some sort of gasket to mute it (modification? ).
I haven't yet found a suitable protective and non-slip case for the charging case (as with the AirPods Pro) to keep it from sliding around while protecting against damage (need to check Aliexpress? )
ANC is quite effective, but I don't think it's as effective as it says in reviews and tests, but it's due to the design and type of headphones (headphones around the ears are of course much better)

So far I've had the Samsung Iconx 2018 and the Galaxy Buds. They both played very decently. However, these Sony's are a level up thanks to the Ldac codec. Software functions somehow do not address. ANC is great, but so far passive noise cancellation has been enough for me. I even have ANC turned off on my WH1000xm3 headset. The sound of these WF1000xm4 is really great. I like the slight bass response these headphones have, the mids and highs are clearly audible. The battery life per charge is more than good. They sit well in my ears, I can feel they are there, but they don't press. They are more expensive, but they have everything I want from such BT plugs.
