A huge improvement on the previous phone (POCO M6 Pro). Great photos, even in low light. The 5x optical zoom was a very pleasant surprise. The battery life on a single charge lasts me a day and a half, but that’s partly because I’m using it more intensively at the moment. The previous call was about 12 hours ago. The speed is excellent and the response is instant. Some people have complained about the fingerprint reader. It worked absolutely fine for me. And I’ve even got UV-hardened glass in there. For that price, I think it’s a good buy.

You don’t really realise just how much mobile phones have evolved over that time until you actually hold a new one in your hand. The first surprise was how easily I was able to transfer all my photos, phone numbers, apps and passwords from my old phone to my new one. Camera? Well, that’s brilliant – the photos are sharp, full of detail and the colours are really true to life. In good light, they look just like they’ve come straight from a camera, but they’re just as impressive in low light too. Zoom is great too – definitely better than on my wife’s phone, which isn’t even a year old. Thanks to its fast processor, the phone is snappy; nothing lags and it responds instantly to everything. Searching the internet is now an experience in its own right when it comes to speed: ) I was also pleased with the high-quality screen and the very fast charging. The only thing I had to get used to was the phone’s heavier weight. It’s noticeably heavier than my old phone, even though they’re roughly the same size, so you really notice the difference during longer calls. Before making my final purchase, I read reviews from other users. Some people mention that the HyperOS interface comes with too many pre-installed apps (I’ll just delete the ones I don’t want), the ultra-wide-angle camera isn’t as good as the main lens (the main lens is used most often anyway) and the fingerprint reader could be faster (I can’t really judge that, as I didn’t use it on my old phone). As far as I’m concerned, however, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. I know that if I were switching from a ten-year-old model, I’d be thrilled with everything, but at home I can compare it with my wife’s and children’s phones, as they change them regularly, and when even my wife admires my phone because of the camera, that really says it all. The Xiaomi 17T Pro offers a superb camera, high performance, long battery life, a beautiful display and fast charging. After ten years with my old mobile, I was worried about how I’d get used to the new one, and I was really surprised at how quickly I got used to it. Despite a few really minor flaws, I would definitely recommend this phone: )
