My first NAS: -) I found at home a 1TB drive from an older laptop so I decided to use it and after a longer selection just purchased Zyxel 326
because of (claimed) performance/price. Out of the box, I screwed the 2.5'' drive into the drawer without much trouble, plugged it into the slot, connected the LAN cable to the PC, connected the power supply and turned it ON. I was surprised by the silence of the fan even when the NAS was next to the PC on the table. After installing the necessary software downloaded from the manufacturer's website (CD disk not included), the NAS immediately caught on and I just set the access password and started configuring all the settings in English using the web browser (Firefox). I first updated the firmware to the latest version. Attention automatic update did not work(only a message that the connection to the update service failed)so again the manufacturer's site and manual download and manual installation, there already took place everything without problems. Communication with the device (setup) runs briskly CPU loaded to about 9% and DDR 22% of capacity. After connecting an external HDD (USB3) I uploaded all the files I need to share on the network to the NAS logical drive according to the sorting (music, pictures, movie) and then I reconnected the LAN cable from the PC to the router and logged on to the NAS using the Wifi network from the laptop and again without a problem. Everything works music and movies do not crash during playback and everything runs as it should. Since I have a regular HDD which is not even supported directly by the manufacturer, I can only recommend it.
The only thing I wouldn't even say is a negative is that when I unplugged the external HDD the whole NAS bit after 2 days of hard testing,,,,,, The error was on my side as I didn't use the Eject soft button in the External Disk Management to unplug it: -D
