Certification EN 17092-4 (B)

EN 17092-4 certification indicates that the motorcycle shirt meets the requirements of the European standard for protective clothing for riders. The letter in brackets, in this case (B), specifies a particular class of protection, here "Class B". This class focuses primarily on the abrasion resistance of the material, which is the ability of the fabric to protect the skin when sliding on the road. A key feature of Class B is that the garment is not required to contain rigid joint protectors such as shoulder and elbow pads in order to qualify. Thus, the shirt is certified for the abrasion strength of the material and seams, but the rider must add the impact protection himself. This can be done by inserting protectors into the pockets if the shirt has them, or by using a separate protector vest. This classification is often used for clothing designed for riding in urban environments and at lower speeds, where the emphasis is on civilian appearance and comfort while maintaining a basic level of puncture protection.
