Round blade head

The round head of the blade, also referred to by the English term "round point", describes the shape of the tip of the razor, which ends in a smooth semicircular arc. The main feature of this design is safety, as the absence of a sharp point at the end of the blade significantly reduces the risk of accidental pricks or cuts to the skin during shaving. It is this feature that often makes the round-head razor the choice for beginners who are just learning the proper technique and handling of a razor or shavette. It provides a greater degree of confidence and forgives minor mistakes in the angle of hold. On the other hand, because of the missing tip, it can be slightly less accurate for detailed work such as aligning the contours of a beard or moustache, where sharper blades are better suited.
