Salt therapy

Salt therapy, also known professionally as "halotherapy", is a procedure based on staying in a room where a dry aerosol of finely ground pure salt is dispersed into the air. A device called a halogenerator is used to create this aerosol, i.e. miniature solid particles in the air. The user relaxes during the treatment and naturally inhales the salt air. The aim is to get these microscopic salt particles into the respiratory tract, where they act on the mucous membranes. The salt aerosol also settles on the skin. In sauna centres, this therapy is used as a complementary treatment to support the respiratory system and cleanse the skin.
