Why is it not good to wash your hair daily?

If you have oily hair, you may feel like washing it every day. However, instead of making your hair less oily, frequent washing will have the opposite effect. It will lead to overproduction of sebum, so your hair will get greasy more quickly. Therefore, we suggest that you try increasing the intervals between  washing as much as possible. It is ideal to wash your hair only twice a week.

Frequent hair washing may also be the culprit behind dandruff, as dry and irritated skin leads to flaking. The right way is to minimize skin irritation and use appropriate shampoos. How to comb your hair properly?

When combing hair, it is important not to comb it wet. Wet hair is more vulnerable and breaks easily. It is also important to use the right comb. High-quality combs feature rounded bristle tips without dangerous protrusions that could irritate the scalp and cause dandruff. Look for antistatic combs, which prevent static electricity in your hair. It is also important to keep the comb clean and replace it regularly. Choose the right bristle type according to your needs:

  • Use a comb with sparse and wide bristles for combing damp hair and normal daily combing.

  • Combs with dense and thin bristles are suitable for separating individual strands of hair and backcombing.

  • Round brushes are designed exclusively for hair styling. Always choose the diameter of these brushes according to the desired hairstyle.

How to style your hair to avoid damage?

To make your hair stronger and healthier, it is not recommended to expose it to high temperatures. However, if you want to style your hair, it will not be possible without using devices that use higher temperatures. In this case, use hair care products that not only protect your hair from the adverse effects of high temperatures, but also allow you to create the desired hairstyle more quickly. Do not use too many styling products to fix the hairstyle, because the more you use, the more prone to damage your hair is.

Moreover, tying your hair into a ponytail may be too strenuous for the hair structure and cause irritation of the scalp. Hair that is tied with an elastic band breaks more and falls out. If you really want a tall ponytail or bun hairdo, use special elastic bands that do not pull or tear your hair.


TIP: If you are picking out a hair dryer, curling iron, or flat iron, check the maximum temperature of the appliance. More gentle styling is ensured by devices with a ionization feature, which gives your hair natural shine and nourishment.

How to deal with hair loss?

Many men and women are struggling with hair loss. It is caused by not only genetic predispositions, but also other factors, for example stress, hormonal imbalance, poor environmental conditions, and excessive use of styling products and dyeing.

The first step of dealing with hair loss can be  changing your diet. It should contain foods that are rich in protein, vitamins (especially vitamin B), minerals, trace elements and amino acids. In addition to the right diet, try hair loss products that effectively reduce hair loss, increase resistance to damage, strengthen the hair structure and make your hair thicker.

What are the effects of hair masks and how to use them?

Hair masks are great helpers on your way to healthy, luscious hair. They penetrate deep into the hair structure, repair the damage and provide regeneration and rich nourishment. Because of their intensive care, they do not need to be applied more than once a week.

As with other products, the choice of mask depends on your hair type (normal, dry, oily, damaged, etc.) Masks are also divided into two basic types, i.e. rinse-out or leave-in masks. In both cases, they should be applied to damp and combed hair. Leave your rinse-out mask in your hair for about 3-5min and then wash it out with cold water. With leave-in masks, you just need to rub your hair between your fingers and let them dry naturally.

What foods contribute to hair health?

The hair quality and health largely depend on a balanced diet. Foods high in protein strengthen hair keratin, which affects how healthy and shiny your hair looks and how fast it grows. Protein-rich foods include eggs, fish, and legumes. Natural shiny pigment is also provided by carotenes, so do not forget to buy enough carrots!

How to protect your hair from the sun?

Like your skin, your hair also needs protection from the harmful effects of the sun. First of all, do not forget headwear, but the most important thing is to choose high-quality cosmetics specially designed to protect your hair from the sun. Moisturizing shampoos, which also help to remove salt, chlorine and suntan lotions from your hair, will be great on holiday both at the seaside and by the swimming pool in the Czech Republic. Before sunbathing, apply a sunscreen hair spray, which creates a protective film on your hair, preventing it from losing its shine and healthy look even in the hottest tropical weather.
