Base


The base serves as the mechanical attachment and electrical connection of the bulb with the light source. They can be screwed in or pinned and they can also vary in size. Different types of sockets are not compatible together.

Bases are the part of lamp bulbs allowing the mechanical fixing and electrical connection with the light source. Based on the type of attachment, there are screw, bayonet, and bi-pin bases, all of which are available in various sizes. Different base types are not compatible with each other.
