CMOS chips are widely used in digital cameras. Despite being relatively cheap to produce, they offer lower power consumption and faster data transfer. As a result, they are used mainly for digital SLR cameras to help in continuous shooting with faster data transfer. CMOS sensors are able to transmit data from each point separately, while CCD sensors works in rows and columns. CMOS sensors are sometimes abbreviated as APS (Active-Pixel Sensor).
Bayonets are mounts used to attach the lens to the camera body. As they are not universally compatible, each manufacturer has its own type of mount. For incompatible lenses and bodies, you can use reductions and adapters, but they restrict the use of certain features, such as autofocus.
