But pay attention to the order of values. The first number is always the horizontal distance and the second vertical (600 × 400 mm is not the same as 400 × 600 mm). The VESA standard thus unifies all holders under one universal value, making the right choice much easier.

How to mount the TV on the wall - drilling and mounting

TV mounts usually consist of two main parts - the part that attaches to the TV and the part that you drill into the wall. Then you connect these two parts, which actually “puts the TV on the holder“. - Hanging TV on the wall is not very suitable if you have a plasterboard wall in the living room. The TV can be hung on it, but often the wall needs additional reinforcement. Alternatively, the TV mount can be drilled directly into the metal partitions holding the plasterboard, but you need to know exactly where to find it. If you are not very handy, the easiest way will be to contact the plasterboarders.
- The best way to select drilling points is to place the perforated part against the wall with spirit levels in a perfectly horizontal position and mark points (usually four) on the wall through the holes. An ordinary pencil is enough for that.
- The package also includes dowels and wall screws as standard. When choosing a drill, make sure it is the right size so that you don' t have to widen the hole, or worse, make it too big.
- Before drilling, make sure you have the right type of dowels. The most common are universal dowels suitable for most materials, but if you attach the TV to plasterboard, for example, it is better to get dowels designed directly for it. They have a wide spacer construction, which ensures a stronger anchorage in the plasterboard wall.
- When drilling into wood, you do not need dowels, but above all the right screws. For example, if you are drilling into wooden beams, you should use wood screws. To prevent possible cracking of the beam, it is advisable to first pre-drill holes with a width of approx. 0.5 cm into it and fasten the screws up to them. When drilling these holes, be sure to use wood drill bits. You can usually recognize them by their sharp point.
- If you are not sure if there are any lines (electricity, water, gas) in the places where you will drill, use detector first.
