Kalkulačka rieši pokročilé funkcie (goniometrické, exponenciálne, logaritmické), zároveň ale nevykresľuje grafy, nie je programovateľná a nerieši ani neupravuje rovnice s premennou.

Pri maturitnej skúške z matematiky nie sú povolené kalkulačky, ktoré disponujú nasledujúcimi funkciami:

Vykresľovanie grafov
Zjednodušovanie algebraických výrazov s premennou
Počítanie koreňov algebraických alebo iných rovníc

Naopak, medzi funkcie, ktoré by vedecká kalkulačka k maturite mala obsahovať, patria:

Všetky aritmetické funkcie (sčítanie, odčítanie, násobenie, delenie, umocňovanie, odmocňovanie)
Počítanie hodnôt elementárnych funkcií (sínus, kosínus, tangens, kotangens, logaritmus)
