Due to the picture-sync failures (which make watching videos and games a "blind man's game"), I will try it on another PC and if it behaves the same - I will return the monitor within 14 days.
I was expecting a luxury experience from EIZO, but it's rather disappointing (even though it's the cheapest model in the EIZO range, targeted more at the office environment). The result is that the image quality is comparable to my almost 20 year old Samsung SyncMaster T910. It was just a TN panel, but it was top-notch for its time, with a large range of viewing angles and color hold, and decent even today. ). The only added value is the "widescreen" which is a very noticeable plus when watching movies.
Update 1: no synchronization problems on another PC. On the other hand, another low end monitor (a ten year old ACER 1917) with a vertical frequency of 60 - 76 Hz behaves correctly even on that PC with which the EIZO did not work. EIZO just doesn't get along with my PC, and it's not entirely the PC's fault.
I'll try the HDMI cable (according to the documentation it has the largest range of vertical frequencies).
If even that doesn't help, some other type of monitor that can do at least 75 Hz will do instead of EIZA.

portrait resolution 1200 px instead of the mandatory 1080 - more space for lines of text
Multiple inputs (VGA, DisplayPort, HDMI, USB)
Colours are not even across the whole screen - slightly lighter stripe under the top edge of the display, darker top corners (with another brand I probably wouldn't have bothered, but this is EIZO! )
Low vertical frequency range (59 - 61 Hz) can cause synchronization dropouts during abrupt image changes (sometimes in video, almost constantly in games, sometimes just open the menu) - the image drops out for about 2 seconds - UNUSABLE! (Happens on both Displayport and VGA)
Only 22.5'' (although somewhere it is advertised as 24'') In real life, at 1200 px portrait resolution, this means that the height of the image is almost the same as on my ancient 19'' 4:3 monitor, but the size of the elements on the screen is smaller compared to 19'' at 1024 portrait resolution! (my stupidity for not recalculating before buying)
Tilting is quite difficult (it takes a grip - knowing where to "lever")
VGA input does not process full resolution - it only covers a cutout of the screen area (unused bars on the sides)
Speakers are (as you might expect) only in number. It would be better not to put them there.
Vertical frequency only 60 Hz
There is no simple utility for setting the monitor image other than from the OSD menu. the supplied Screen InStyle is unnecessarily complicated and the contrast cannot be adjusted at all.
no DVI input
There are too many cons for an EIZO monitor..: -(

CZ instructions and Czech menu are missing. I don't mind, but the product has CR written on it. I don't know..: ))
