Review from the perspective of a CS/Valo competitive player:
I'm switching from Zowie 240hz, I was thinking about Zowie 400hz or QD-Oled technology (and also 500hz if the price.). Quickly put, going to Zowie in the big 2026 is a complete waste. Even if one played in a toptier eSport, QD-Oled is in a different league. Zowie themselves are working on an OLED panel, but their markup on the price is a bit of a ceiling. It's nice that Zowie is at every LANce, but that's because they're sponsored. The TN panel doesn't have those weird motion spots thanks to their custom CRT-type feature, but if you buy a 500hz monitor and know that 300-500 fps isn't a problem, you won't have any spots either. Blur is out. 27 inches vs 24 inches? You'll get used to it in a day and then you won't want to go back to 24 inches - why? When you play, you're looking at the middle of the display anyway, and when you focus on a map or other spot on the display, that 24 inches doesn't help with enemy peek. The colors are beautiful, but there is little adjustability in the monitor (you need to abuse the digital vibrance in the NVIDIA control panel). The 0.03ms response is a disgusting secret killer, you can tell and the enemy cries. QD-Oled has an unlucky thing - when you play stretched, it's easy to see how QD-Oled technology doesn't "squeeze" the LED pixels into one, but they are all around. Around the white cross you can see green and red LEDs. Does it bother me? No, I'll switch to green cross. This monitor specifically has an unlucky thing - when you set "Adaptive-sync" the monitor will flicker white slightly, and that's because you don't have stable FPS (if you have a steady 500 fps, don't turn on this feature) Of course there is some display protection - a person who has a display like this for the first time will be scared of spots on the monitor - DON'T! You're gonna mess things up even more by deleting the monitor. Wash the monitor once in a while when the spots are thick. Cloth to the monitor is included, do not use alcohol! The panel protection itself is simple and straightforward, you have XYZ settings there, with the caveat that I immediately recommend turning off "Auto DIM Control", otherwise you'll be schizo, and turning on "Panel Protect" every 4 hours. This function will calm down the monitor in 5-10 minutes, the colours will be ready again and the panel will be happy. Think for yourself - a Zowie at the same price because it's on every LAN (certainly not marketing stuff) with 400hz and technology that's long since gone meta OR a panel that's essentially next-gen meta? OLED > TN, IPS, VN
0.03ms response
500hz (+gsync)
OLED technology
Monitor does not shake, holds firmly
Pixel Shift can get confusing in the middle of the game, but just keep the "Normal" setting
Turn off "Auto-Dim control" otherwise you will be schizo
Completely stupid UI - not enough playing with colours, optix cross/scope was invented by someone slightly under the influence
