Simply a "no nonsense" monitor, though probably a bit more expensive according to the official MSRP, but Alza has it for 5,000–8,000 cheaper, which is acceptable. I'm completely satisfied with it as a multifunctional monitor for programming and gaming. I've never been interested in HDR because of migraines from PWM backlighting (which all FALD/OLEDs have), so for me, that's not really a minus, but it's true that apart from the 6K resolution, there's not much else here. As for gaming at 6K, well, I exclusively play less demanding games, but even for those, the RTX 5090 is basically the minimum - Arknights Endfield at 6K with DLSS Quality is just about at the 120 FPS engine limit, Minecraft with some lighter shaders like ComplementaryUnbound High is around 130–150 FPS. I've also observed that at this resolution, the RTX 5090 has enough pixels for all 20k CUDA cores, so the performance vs the RTX 5080 is more like 1.8x–1.9x instead of the classic 1.6x from 4K reviews. If you want to buy several of these monitors, only the RTX 50 series (it doesn't matter which one, the 5050 is the same as the 5090 in this regard) can handle 2x 6k165 or 3x 6k120 and 4x 6k120. The RX 9070XT can only do 2x 120, 3x 6k only at 60Hz, and the 9060XT can't handle it at all. Intel Arc and RTX 40/RX 6000 and older can't even run one at the full 165Hz refresh rate - you simply must have the latest generation GPU. And with the RTX 50, you don't have to worry about losing MPO/DSR and slow alt-tabbing; that was a dual-head problem with the RTX 30/40 (no, it never had anything to do with DSC) and it no longer exists with the RTX 50 thanks to major changes in the display engine. In short, a big monitor has big demands on the graphics card, both in terms of performance and support for new standards.
6K resolution and 220 PPI (equivalent to a 20" 4K or 27" 5K)
The 3K 330Hz dual-mode for gaming is brilliant
Dual-mode doesn't use integer-scaling, but Samsung has significantly reduced the blur, so a few reviews - including mine - originally thought it was integer-scaled. You actually need a camera to see it, so in my opinion, it's not a practical problem.
No VRR flicker
No overshoot or inverse ghosting in 6K mode and only very slight inverse ghosting in 3K mode - they have a different overdrive.
Good contrast (it seems to be something similar to what LG would call IPS Black)
Good colours after a quick manual calibration
Completely flicker-free if you turn off local dimming (which, given the number of zones, is more of a gimmick than a useful feature).
Quite a nice OSD and controls, but the joystick could be a bit sturdier.
Option to switch automatic input switching on/off
6k165 on all inputs (2x HDMI 48Gbps, 1x DP 54Gbps - all require DSC and even DP80 would need it, so it's OK by me and you can buy longer/cheaper DP54 cables)
Ultra-fast switching between inputs and dual mode
The monitor doesn't "cut off" the input when you switch to another one, so it's great for using with several PCs.
For 30k–33k, it's an acceptable price compared to the official Samsung price of 38.5k CZK.
No proper HDR
Doesn't have a built-in KVM
The out-of-the-box calibration is so-so, it's far from the worst but it could be better for a "semi-professional/semi-gaming" monitor.
The colour space can't be set properly - only Native and Auto.
The overdrive isn't adjustable, but on the other hand, apart from the absolute peak of the 330Hz refresh rate, the response time is OK.
The minimum brightness is quite high
The rear RGB ring is PWM.
The RRP of 38.5k CZK is insane, the Alza price of 30–33k is already acceptable.
The first monitor from Alza had dirt under the LCD glass, I had to return it (so out of 3 monitors, 1 had a manufacturing defect, just typical Samsung)
If you want to play at full 6K then you'll need an RTX 5090, 4K vs 6K might not seem like much at first glance, but it's 8.3M pixels vs 21.2M, so that's 2.56x the amount.
