I chose the monitor because I bought an RTX 3080 and wanted to use the 1440p gaming option. 4K is overkill for me, so I thought this monitor is the perfect price/performance ratio. Unfortunately, after about one day of use, it started to bother me a lot, how much ghosting and smearing is noticeable - i. e. that e. g. when scrolling on the web, a long vertical line appears under the letters, or in games, as if you turned on motion blur. In short, when moving, everything gets blurred (especially if it' s on a dark background) and it happens that e. g. you see a character in the game briefly two or three times right next to each other while moving. It' s really annoying and even my friend, who otherwise doesn' t have much of a sense of visual detail, noticed it right away.
If you want to play games on this monitor, really consider buying a VA panel. Better pay extra and buy a monitor with an IPS panel. Your eyes will thank you. Another problem is that this monitor is not certified as Gsync compatible, only Freesync. This means that if you have a Nvidia graphics card, you can turn on Gsync, but there is no guarantee that it will work correctly. And it doesn' t work - the monitor often did the thing that when I moved the mouse or the window it increased and decreased the brightness of the monitor a little. It' s such a flash. Both the bios and the monitor have adaptive brightness turned off, but it still does it. After consulting Acer support, I was told to turn off Gsync - and lo and behold, the error disappeared. Therefore, you won' t be able to enjoy Gsync here, and you' ll occasionally notice minor image tearing in games.
