I bought the Sony TV because I have been buying Sony products since 1995 when the PS1 came out. I also wanted a bigger 55 pal screen with my PS4 Pro. previous Sony KD-49XG9005 and also to test the quality of the OLED panel and honestly I expected a little more.
- good image
- mainly viewing angles
- weaker sound quality for me rather noise, does not have as the previous tv in the menu custom sound settings without any effects only preset as cinema, music etc. which you can also adjust the eq. etc but I couldn't get clear sound from the TV with any settings. When you turn off surround sound and other effects the TV still distorts the sound .
- processing and appearance is bad, previous tv screamed I'm SONY but with this one you overlook even the sony logo, the panel cover is corrugated corners bent and overall no great but the feet to stand on the table are nice probably the lowest quality thing on the tv, maybe it does not belong to it.
- remote control one small condensed buttons that's probably a joke and one smart control without number buttons which I don't use. Thanks for the driver from the older models.
- as for channel switching, I'm used from the old tv to longer channel switching time but to watch the loading wheel when switching channels on a tv for 36000 thousand and on discount it's already sony overdoes it.
- the display of the image on the entire panel is not working even when you turn on this function tv by itself displays black stripes about 6 mm once on the right then left. Probably protection from burning the image terrible.
- the info bar is a goulash, the channel number is displayed almost in the middle of the screen, the channel info is displayed at the bottom centre of the screen and the clock in the top right corner and everything has its own little bar, God why.
- maybe Sony will patch it with an update but I'm worried about what will go wrong again. If I were Sony, I'd probably start looking for another job. I just hope that the TV will work without malfunction like the previous models.
