When I was picking out a new TV, I went a little against the grain. Most people automatically reach for an LG or Samsung, but I looked at our kitchen, where I have my second fridge from this brand (I sent the first one on to serve), and then thought about a washing machine that I can operate myself, that I like, and that is just great. Haier. The picture and performance is the thing that just surprised me - for a regular TV geek it's above standard, but if you want it, like me, even for gaming, the 144 Hz panel + HDMI 2.1 and FreeSync is just on par with gaming monitors. Google TV runs smoothly and without choppiness, which is not a given even with more expensive brands. Apps, Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, HBO - everything works as it should. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound too, but only when listening to music. A soundbar will simply never replace it, but it's more than a good base. Design and workmanship - Haier really took care here, metal frame, thin. Beautiful. And so the only weakness is the TV remote where EVERYONE gets flicked over because the buttons are piddly and unfortunately spaced out. BUT it has one big advantage - it is rechargeable via USB + solar! And then there's another BUT - there's a second battery operated controller: -) So I can't write this as a negative. This is just an overall good TV and exactly what I thought it would be: a company that can make quality appliances can't afford to make a bad TV. Haier is clearly trying to break through and it shows here.

The TV does occasionally flicker after it's turned off, but I assume it's all coming together.
For such a modern TV, I would expect that the power cable can be removed and replaced with a longer one. Alternatively, it would be good to put it on the same side as all the connectors.
The image settings have too many nonsensical options for my taste that don't affect much of anything.
