It doesn't have driven wheels; it moves only by briefly pushing water through the filter via one outlet, then the opposite one. I reckon all devices in this price range work in a similar way. So not stirring up the bottom would mean not vacuuming at all. :-) The Olymp from Mountfield is a tough nut for it to crack. It drives onto the coving, turns a bit, and a moment later goes the other way. It manages somehow in the end, but it struggles near the walls. In a regularly shaped pool, this "strategy" probably works, but for anything more complex... I'm not so sure.
