The tilt needs to be fixed (tightened) before the final fitting of the Tv, otherwise you will not be able to get to the tightening screws.
The previous reviews are right, and the bracket is indeed molded so that the TV is misaligned when mounted - one side goes against the wall and the other runs off. I solved the side pulling off with a cork stopper. It is not a comfortable solution, but it works.
