I have mixed feelings with this processor. In particular, I am struck by the 105W TDP versus the 3700x 65W TDP. Although it doesn't reach 105W in real terms, but its real TDP is a bit above 93W. It also does not reach 4.5 GHz but only slightly above 4.3 GHz (max). On paper it is only a 100Mhz increase over the 3700X, but 40W higher TDP !. The only explanation I can think of is that it is an inferior "piece of silicon" (compared to 3700x), which is "pushed" to the very limit of usability by the higher voltage. AMD has apparently (due to production problems and a worldwide shortage of quality silicon ) decided to sell lower quality at a higher price. It's like selling a chipped and tuned Felicia for more than a standard Octavia.
If you are going to buy a processor I recommend buying a 3700x. There's something wrong with this processor.
