I already have one American Tourister suitcase at home, a SoundBox in the largest size, and it serves me well, so I assumed I'd be happy with the same brand again.
Well, after bringing the suitcase home, unpacking it from the plastic and opening it for the first time, I was hesitant to return it.
From the outside it looks solid, the material is good, quite well made, perfect distinctive colour, which has the advantage that I can easily recognize my suitcase anywhere in a pile of luggage.
After the first opening of the trunk, however, a lot of disappointment and dissatisfaction.
The execution of the interior equipment at the very first impression looks very sloppily made, the stitching is worn out, it does not look very straight and thorough. Nothing to inspire confidence.
With all of my 4 or so other cheaper suitcases it is much better.
In the end, after some hesitation, I kept the suitcase just because:
1) I needed to replace my existing 62-69 litre suitcase. There are few other really light (under 3 kg) suitcases on the market with a similar volume.
2) The suitcase was at a sale price, I probably wouldn't want it for the full price recommended by the manufacturer.
3) The color is handy, although I wasn't originally attracted to it, I liked it at first sight of the suitcase in my hand, although pea green is not my color and I was more tempted by turquoise blue-green, but this one is really pretty in real life: o)
4) I was in quite a hurry for the suitcase and I was lazy to browse the web again, checking volumes, weights and prices and thinking about quality.
So I ended up keeping the suitcase, but I'd probably be hesitant to recommend it at that price. If I were choosing again, and already had the information I have about this suitcase, I would again consider the significantly discounted, equally large and lightweight Pulsonic or the even bulkier but equal in size and weight Starvibe.
