something I didn't really expect from a router. pampered to the point of pudding. for the price of how much it can do, it's a real bomb.

doing what he's supposed to do
it works as it should (if you don't mind what I've listed from the minuses )
the web interface is clear
2.4G wifi range excellent
router speed excellent in terms of cpu and ram
as for USB good fast works as it should
I can use other firmware e.g. padavan or openwert and others: )))) which is an advantage !
as a router for an unpretentious person excellent: ) who doesn't mind the "fly" he has
small 5G wifi range unfortunately
heats up but that's not a problem (just put it in a good place )
once you confirm (i.e. date ok/save settings) it takes too long to save the settings
strange behavior firewall blocks packets from going nowhere to nowhere! or it accepts packets it shouldn't! I've only encountered this kind of behaviour with asus: )
in the logo it is clearly visible that the router sends packets "to itself" it can send 15 packets per day ( and it is not just one asus router I have several! )
there is no way to block or get rid of those strange packets! even if you disconnect the wan port (cable) so the router still send those strange packets to wan! in my opinion, it is a communication from the asus server! or some stalker!
this makes this router unusable for currency
I can use other firmware e.g. padavan or openwert and others: )))) which is an advantage, but even using alternative fw will get rid of the problem of strange packets: (

Even out of the box, you can tell it's a heavy piece of metal that's no good
More than enough settings for home network, including bandwidth limitation on LAN ports
Drop the wifi signal in the other room by only about 10%
Some settings are hard to find, e.g. The VLAN for the internet is under the IPTV tab, but if you're not stupid, you can find out what you need to do: )

It took me a while to figure out how to set it up.
Since I purchased an already unpacked item - I even had to reset it first because the password from the previous owner was stored there. So I was wondering - how did they test it then? But that's not an equipment issue, so it doesn't affect my rating.
