Fully compatible with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and its generic driver (no additional driver installation required). Connecting to a WiFi network or creating a hotspot to share a wired internet connection with your phone works great. I definitely recommend it.
It does not support WiFi 802.11ac, hence the lower transfer speed on newer laptops and PCs. But my laptop only has USB 2.0 ports, so WiFi 802.11ac speed would be the same as WiFi 802.11n.
