I was looking for a straight glass jar with a glass lid and a silicone seal so I could put a hot lunch in it. You can't do that with a plastic lid if you like your health. Moreover, the lid cannot go in the dishwasher, just like other plastics. so the jar's for salad.

in the product detail it says that the cap is glass, but it is plastic, which totally changed the character of the product.
