If you'd like to use these lasers outdoors, accept that you'll have to be out half an hour before sunset at the earliest. On a normal day, it doesn't even reach half a metre away, and this is true even inside a room with the windows open - up to three metres in the daytime. It's really not good for building outdoors when you have to wait until the evening to take each measurement.
