I am absolutely thrilled with this board! I bought it to go with my new steam station, which held up on my old board, but was quite unstable, which can have fatal consequences in a household with small children. This board holds the steam station very well and also keeps it in place thanks to the hinged border. In addition, the whole board is very stable, so ironing is definitely safer than with a regular board.
The generous ironing surface is also impeccable. This saves when ironing larger pieces of laundry (e.g. sheets) enough time.
If you only take the iron out a couple of times a year, you can certainly get by with an ordinary ironing board. However, if you iron a large volume of laundry relatively often, this is definitely a great helper (and in combination with the steam generator, ironing is done in no time). I highly recommend it!
