It turns a passive antenna into an active one.
My situation was that the passive antenna was giving a poor quality signal, and the active splitter was working with this weak signal and dropping out. After installing this feeder, the antenna reception has improved so much that the splitter is just passive and everything is ok.
It is not directly negative, but at first glance it is not indicated where the input and output should be. It's drawn in a way that a somewhat knowledgeable person can understand, but it's not completely intuitive.
