As a nuclear physicist I declare - my piece is absolutely useless, I won't try another one, you are buying just another huge low quality voltmeter with resistance - with a big heater that smells very bad during the first uses, before the coating evaporates. It's not reliable, accuracy is useless, not factory calibrated - without my own voltmeter I would definitely not trust any piece of Compass, and I would definitely not throw away a car battery because of the measurement result. It is possible that another piece will have the correct components and the analogue sticker scale will be correct - but calibration with a multimeter will be necessary anyway.

Arrived with the needle off zero, according to the instructions shifted to 0V
However, the scale doesn't match, then it shows at 12V 0.5V less than reality (verified with two voltmeters), which makes an absolutely crucial difference in whether the battery is bad or not (checked on a new car battery, both new and older, all would mark as bad). Therefore recalibrated back 0.5V higher, however it's useless, at 10V and 13V it's already diverging again compared to the voltmeter - wrong scale of the analogue label is not linear as well as the meter - bad piece? I also paid attention to ambient temperatures during measurement and calibration.
The smallest part of the analogue 0.2V is still not enough - but with the poor accuracy of the meter it doesn't really matter

The clamps don't open enough on some batteries if you measure in the car, and not with the battery removed like I did.

Great product, classically analogue, even a layman can understand the readings. Indestructible, simple and analogue accurate! It will always provide every ordinary and more experienced user with the exact info that can be expected from such a product without unnecessary nonsense like time, dew point and similar nonsense. Measure anytime, anywhere and in any weather. It can withstand rough treatment, but why treat a good meter roughly? He's not offended by being dragged across the floor by his beard and his hands are dirty with oil, he's just a hard worker!
