The dongle (adapter) works via bluetooth, but it supports *only* A2DP, AVRCP and HFP audio profiles. This means that if you want to use it for your desktop computer that doesn't have bluetooth, for example to connect wireless headphones and mouse (or keyboard, etc. ), you'll burn out with a mouse. The dongle acts as a standalone sound card - and in this respect it works perfectly. It just can't be used to connect non-audio devices; it may not be clear from the description.
